Balster hired to Lead Bluejay Soccer

WORTHINGTON -- Minnesota West Community and Technical College has announced the hiring of Jordan Balster as the new head coach of the Bluejay soccer team. Balster grew up in Worthington and is a graduate of Worthington High School where he played soccer for three years. He played four years of college soccer at Buena Vista University while also volunteering as a coach for the school-aged soccer program in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Balster has been active in youth soccer leagues and player development since college and most recently was the assistant boys varsity soccer coach at Worthington High School.

Bob Purcell, men's athletic director, said, "Having Jordan as our new men soccer coach is exciting. This is a very positive sign for our school to bring in an experienced coach and to have him build a successful soccer program."

"Over the past six years coaching at the high school level, it has been amazing to see the growth of our boys' soccer team here in Worthington. Now as the head coach for the men's soccer program here at Minnesota West, I am looking forward to the challenge of creating a program that not only gives our players an opportunity to be successful on the field but also in the classroom and in their future careers," said Balster.
