Minnesota West Guard Olivia Hayenga Secures Women's Basketball Division Player-of-the-Week Honors with Stellar Performances

November 29, 2023 – Minnesota West Community and Technical College is proud to announce that Olivia Hayenga, a standout guard for the Ladyjays, has been named both by the NJCAA DIII Player-of-the-Week & the MCAC South Division Athlete-of-the-Week in Women's basketball, for her outstanding performances in the recent games.

In a spectacular display of skill and determination, Hayenga showcased her prowess on the court in two games, contributing significantly to her team's success. Scoring an impressive 67 points, she demonstrated precision with a 44.9% shooting accuracy, going 22 of 49 from the field. Her proficiency from the free-throw line was also remarkable, sinking 21 of 29 attempts.

Hayenga's impact wasn't just scoring alone; picking up 24 rebounds, distributing 10 assists, securing 8 steals, and adding 5 blocks to her stat sheet. Her exceptional all-around performance was instrumental in leading the Ladyjays to two consecutive victories.
