Worthington, MN — The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) announces the 2023 South All-Division Volleyball Team, Players of the Year, and the All-MCAC and All-Region 13 Teams. This year's selections reflect the outstanding performances and dedication of collegiate volleyball athletes and coaches throughout the South Division.
Ella Hesse, a freshman outside hitter from Minnesota West Community & Technical College, has been awarded the prestigious title of MCAC South Player of the Year. Hesse's outstanding achievements this season have solidified her position.
Throughout the season, Hesse consistently showcased her extraordinary skills, tallying an impressive 435 kills, with an average of 3.82 kills per set and an outstanding .264 hitting efficiency. She also contributed significantly to her team's defensive efforts with 430 digs, averaging 3.77 digs per set, and demonstrated her serving prowess with 23 aces. Hesse's stellar performance has led her Ladyjays team to an NJCAA DIII Volleyball Top-15 ranking and the 2023 NJCAA North Plains/Region 13A District finals.
Coach Britney McNab is also a testament to leadership and guidance, which helped mold Hesse and the team into the successful unit they are today.
In addition to these well-deserved awards, the top nine vote-getters from each division have also earned spots on the All-MCAC Team. Furthermore, the top six players have been honored with positions on the All-Region 13 Team, acknowledging their exceptional talent and contributions to their respective teams.
