Bluejay Wrestling Nationals

Four Bluejay wrestlers traveled to Council Bluffs, IA over the weekend to wrestle at the NJCAA National Championships. Among the four qualifiers was Joey Wilczek (149), Sam Rock (174), Aidyn Wolfe (184), and Billey Mensah (285). Over the course of the weekend, each wrestler put forth an outstanding effort in all of their matches. Mensah finished 0-2 after two tough draws against seeded opponents on the front and back side of the bracket. After dropping his first match, Wilczek recovered with a pin on the backside before falling just shy again to go 1-2 in the tournament. Wolfe was the bracket buster in 184, defeating both the 13 and 11 seed while being unseeded. He ultimately fell to the #6 and #8 seeded wrestlers in two tightly contested matches. Finally, Sam Rock was able to achieve a 5-2 record on the weekend, and earn All-American honors placing 7th in the tournament! His final record was 27-13 overall and 20-5 against NJCAA opponents!
